Just wanted to check in from down here in East TN. I was fortunate enough to run into Cakes yesterday at Deal's Gap. :wave2: Nice to meet ya, bro.

Anytime you fellas want to come down and drag knees on the "dragon" with some locals, feel free to give us a shout. My local crew (http://easttnriders.com/) has group rides most every weekend on some awesome roads.

Keep it safe out there...

Thanks for the warm welcomes. Glad to hear y'all had a good time. Make sure and find your pictures at http://killboy.com. He normally updates Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

And I normally post ride reports and pics on my blog at http://tjayswift.blogspot.com.

I look forward to seeing this board grow, and I'll do what I can to spread the word here locally, as well.

Awesome meeting you and Shelly. Like Matt said...you guys got one helluva playground there...between the tight 1st gear 10mph turns on the Dragon(I got mad respect for the locals dragin knee on 129 :wow: ) and the long flowing sweepers that seem to go forever on 28 I didn't wanna leave..this will definitely be a yearly event and we'll have to meet up...stay tuned in the media forum for pics...welcome and hope you enjoy the site...

Joe

ps...forgot to say thank you for setting up the decreasing radius turns with those orange markers...that was cool as hell...

Some weekends there would be 10+ fresh skidmarks leaving the road in some of those turns... We got tired of scraping you yankees up off the pavement. :D Just kidding- it makes it a little easier on everyone with the markers there, including us locals. Sometimes you get into a good groove and it sucks to have all your confidence sapped by one blind turn that tightens up on you. It takes years to memorize that road the way some of the regulars know it.

That damn Shelley chick is something else on a bike- she's gonna be spanking my ass up there in no time!! I think I found a keeper with that one.

The funny thing about the really tight hairpins is, once you get used to them, they feel so much safer than the 80MPH sweepers- you can reach full lean, and you know that if it washes out, you're probably going to be able to get up and ride on.

For those of you who haven't seen what we're talking about, I attached a good example.

Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves, I'll be more than happy to show you some other great local roads next time you come down...
