My Trailblazer SS…
In this day of high gas prices and SUV’s that are driven by owners that have no idea what they are doing it’s nice to see GM come out with a sensible SUV for the rest of us. Er…
The rest of us that refuse to be sensible…
I have no idea why I’ve done what I’ve done as it makes no practical sense. But if you’ve been following what I’ve done to the TLS then you know not everything I do is practical. For those that don’t know the Trailblazer SS is power by the Corvette derived LS2 6.0 liter V8 putting out 395hp and 400 ft/lbs of torque in the blazer setup. Full time AWD and 4.10 gears make for a VERY thirsty truck but…
…But hold to that seat. Every time I start the thing up I get the same evil grin I do when I fire up the TLS. The suspension is sports car tight. It rides on 20” rims, is lowered down and has Bilistien shocks all from the factory. It will actually go around a turn. After driving my big Z71 Suburban it’s that’s a concept that is hard to believe… but it does. And that power… It will do 0-60 in just over five and a half seconds and if you’re talented enough a sub 14 second 1/4-mile time possible braking into the triple digits. The few times I’ve put my foot down to see the needle sweep to 6.5k I keep thinking; should a SUV accelerate like this? What the F do I care, this is fun.
Anyway… It does retain a practical side and will tow my dual-axle enclosed trailer with ease. It also has a self leveling rear ride height system (as the Z71 did) so it won’t sag in the back with the trailer attached. The compressor that fills the airbags for the leveling system play’s double duty and is accessible via a connection in back. One less thing to pack on track days!
Black of course... Is there any other color...

Even comes with a hose and gauge!
