CCS Southwest Region racer Ray Hymer and his racer son Steven have been arrested and charged with stealing motorcycles, according to local news reports.

According to local sources, the Hymers usually raced SV650 Suzukis in various lightweight classes.

"A father and son team is busted for stealing dozens of motorcycles across the Valley.

After a six-month investigation, police net more than a quarter of a million dollars in stolen motorcycles.

"So far, we've seized over 25 stolen motorcycles," said Lt. Bob Ticer with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. "We have seized stolen trailers as well and motorcycles previously. We have detectives at four other locations right now, actively working to identify motorcycles and parts of motorcycles."

He said search warrants were served at five different locations. Ray and Steve Himmer are now behind bars, facing numerous charges."
