Hey Everyone-

I'm a rookie to both this site and street riding (previous exp. on dirt), but wanted to make myself known because i'm really looking forward to the upcoming season.
I was refered to this site by a very active member, and look forward to BSing with everyone, and linking up for some rides.

Now time for the shamless but sincer plug!!
I also wanted to mention that I work for State Farm Insurance and are rates for cycle Insurance are VERY CHEAP, and that we don't require that you have your auto with us. Since I bought the bike I mentioned it a couple of other riders I know, and ive been surprized with how many people are getting slamed on their coverage, and how much they can save. Shoot me a line if your interested.

I look forward to getting to know everybody, and again, look forward to meeting up for rides.

Welcome to SBA. :wave2: but right now im happy with my cheap Rider insurance. :)

With Rider raising rates this year I'm surprised your coverage is that cheap regarding your location, age, and bike...or do you just have liability? You should call State Farm anyway for a quote, ya never know till you try...you might have more track funds down the road. ;)

BTW, welcome to SBA Marker01.

Mark, I just called a local agent and corporate in Parsippany and was informed that you must have your car insured with them in order for them to write you a motorcycle ploicy. I'm interested in getting a quote. Please clarify...

Thanks

Finally someone with some knowledge who works for State Farm. I visisted the offices located in N. Arlington, NJ and the dumb chick told me State Farm doesn't insure motorcycles at all.:slap:

i know someone who has statefarm for his bike but like someone already said i believe you have to already have car insurance for them to insure you, and yea its really cheap....he pays like 500 a year or some ridiculously low number

Welcome to SBA....enjoy.

I just had a friend try State Farm to insure her bike and they asked her if she had any moving violations....she answered honestly "yes" and they rejected her right on the spot....gee thanks State Farm!!

I cant speak for every State Farm Agt. But were saving people some cash here, no need to have auto here as 2nd policy, close to clean record is a sure thing.

Meep Meep!

Think its time for a bump!

Just wanted to let everybody know that Pete gave me a great rate on bike insurance through state farm, and hopefully I can get most of my other insurance through a single agent.

Picked up a new 06 636 2 weeks ago and I am paying the same for that than I was on my 01 through foremost with the same coverage/deductibles.

Post some pics...which color scheme you go with?

Does State Farm check previous records or do they just want current Points?

ffejtable

They did get a drivers abstract for me. Like your credit report, there is some company that apparently keeps track of driving records too, which is different than your driver's abstract from DMV. Not sure of the details, I just know it exists, which is what most insurance companies use as far as I know...

My record isnt spotless, but its not terrible either. Other factors may have helped me such as age and credit rating. I dont think state farm uses credit score like Geico does, though...

I'll create a thread with bike pics, don't want to go off topic and whore this thread, altho I'm sure Pete doesnt mind the free bumps ;)

Nope, I'll take the free bump, and raise you one bump!!

But to answer some questions, we look at insurance/violation points.
No more then 7 allowed.

Each chargeable (meaning you fugged up) accident is 5 insurance points. Violations count as well. Meaning, one chargeable accident and two 2 pointers is 9 insurance points. = Not good!!

It makes a huge difference (sometimes 200%) to be over 25.

Btw, forgot to mention when we went to Point Pleasant, ended up goin with Rider once they got back to me. Almost the same rate as I had previously, but the bump in fee was due to them changing the FZ's classification to sport :(
