View Full Version : Where to place lap timer receiver?

I've recently acquired full bodywork for the SV and am purchasing a lap timer. Contemplating a 6 foot or 20in cord and whether to place the received on the front, or back of the bike.

-Any thoughts on where to place it on the front in the bodywork?
-Any pros/cons to using the front or rear of the bike? (Crashability?)

Thanks,

Bryce

Most tracks the beacon will be on riders right. I have mine on the brake res. For riders left I move it over to the left side of the triple.

Pics would be great. the bodywork I picked up doesn't have a nice lip under the clipons to attach the receiver, so I gotta figure this out some time thanks.

get the short cable. I used a radio backstrap to make a mount for the display and velcro the reciever to my air ducts.
I have put them on other bikes for people, and if I couln't velcro it right to something, I'de make some sort of bracket to the body/frame/etc... and velcro it to that

How does that gearing do on VIR, Beaver, Summit? I won't get to Mosport this year with that long straight, but I wonder if u top out at other tracks?

My sv is a ton of fun no matter what track...I've never topped out 6th...I've seen my shift light come on(set for 9800) in 6th but had to slow up soon after. Beaver is my fav track.
