Real men use adjustable linkages…

I picked this little item up not so long ago. Now I’m waiting for my new exhaust system to come in so I can knock out a few projects on the TLS in one shot (yes, another exhaust set up).

This will allow me to raise and lower the rear in accordance to what I’ve done to the front. I’m already running a set of forks that are 15mm shorter than the original TLS and my Bitubo shock raised the back about 10mm on top of that. Add in the use of tires 180/55, 190/50 and 200/50 and the back end gets way out of wack. Now I can keep the geometry consistent when making such changes.

Are you kidding me? Just ride.

I guess those math classes I thought were useless in high school would come in handy now trying to keep the geometry consistent...

Or i could take Ants advice and just ride.... :)

I rode it into work today... :nod2:

The TL is a geometrical nightmare to begin with. Add to the fact that I keep screwing with it and it gets worse. I'm also fairly certain that not keeping it in check was a factor in this...

Man I can't get the grass to grow in my yard and you figured out how to grow it on your bike.

You have to start with a good layer of dirt before you get the grass to grow. :P

Ever heard of GMD????????????

Ever heard of GMD????????????

See that's the other thing... I could go to GMD have the bike measured and then what? Live with the numbers or do something about them. I already know that the forks I use are 15mm shorter than the stock units and the Bitubo rear shock added another 10mm of ride height to the rear... Where do you thing my rake/trail numbers are headed on an already sketchy bike.

Yes, I have heard of GMD but without the ability to make change its pointless having anything done.

Remember they can change things too, not just measure. They also stock parts like links etc. If the bike is that bad, get rid of it or fix it :)

:banghead:
I swear it's like pulling teeth sometimes.

I think you missed the point of me adding this linkage... It was to fix it. If the bike was taken to GMD in they would now have the ability to raise/lower the back a millimeter at a time until it was perfect. I doubt they have the required parts for a TLS. Remember the TL uses a unique suspension and the TLS does not have the adjustability of the TLR. The TLR can be shimmed the TLS can not.

No, you're supposed to read the thread dude.

I'm flattered you removed me from your ignore list and took the time to respond to my post. BTW, speaking of time, I took a little to correct your grammar. Maybe instead of fucking up your bike any further, you should look into this.

Same bike.

Very nice, since I got the GSXR as a track bike my other project will be to make the Tl pretty again. I have a primered set of fairrings so I may paint the whole bike and just go from there. Mechanically the bike runs real strong now I just need to clean it up and go from there.

For some reason you have the ability to frustrate the hell out of me. When that happens it shows in my responses (grammar and vocabulary). I will try to refrain from this happening again... I apologize.
