View Full Version : NWS PA Deer Hunt *Not animal friendly*

Well i just got back from my traditional PA rifle deer hunt. Every year since i was 12 years old my dad and i head out to PA for the opening day of rifle season. For the last couple of years we have been hunting on his property in Bradford County PA and adding my bro in law to mike the tradition.

Here is the pic of my basket rack 7 pointer i got. It was about a 45yard shot with a Marlin 30/30 rifle.

Here is the pic of my dads friend DJ that nailed this monster 6 pointer. His deer had to weigh 200lbs before it was dressed out. It should have been a 8 pointer but 2 of the antlers got nocked off most likely from fighting.

Great pics...

U can't smile in these pics u have to give the image of a hardcore killer, smiling is not appropriate. Kinda like smiling in a mugshot :)

Well its not always like that. My dad sat in the same woods and didn't see a tail for 3 days. So with the rifle its all luck. You got to get into the bow for the real hunting.

But the deer in NJ have no chance come monday. I'm using my mossberg 12 gage shotgun that shoots 3 1/2" in XX buckshot out of it. I just hope the freaking gun doesn't knock me out of my tree stand.

We only use reloads when shooting skeet. Otherwise its not worth it...

Forget the buckshot man, you're not a rookie anymore, time to move up in stopping power with the opening shotgun NJ season. You put one of these Sabot slugs thru the spine just over the shoulder within 50 yards and it's all over. ;)
