not sure what is so interesting about scanners.....but i use a uniden bearcat both in my truck and my portable is also a uniden. my pager (fire dept) is motorola

as a trucker i can tell you we use the cb. not the scanner

As a person who has a CDL, a trucker 8 times a year, I agree, we (my company) relies on CB talk to evade tickets.

I use to use mine when I lived in Manhattan all the time. But was to listen to all of the crazy stuff that goes on in the city. I lived on 75th street right off of the FDR so I could hear everything from 125 to the lower east side and some of brooklyn. I carried it in the car a few times but it was more to hear what was going on when there was an accident than to watch out for cops.
It also picked up cordless phones and baby monitors. Now it is sitting in the garage collecting dust.
