View Full Version : Shedding a bike's weight is important...

...to many riders be it on the street or the track, but if one's so concerned about the smallest details of a bike to gain that extra edge maybe they should think about shedding some of their own body weight as well. That probably makes just as much of a difference regarding sprung weight along with any mods that are done to the bike. Also for all the bling guys out there who like chrome, keep in mind that's adding weight to a bike, you'd be surprised who doesn't know that.

you saying i'm fat?? :2finger:
actually, i would think the weight of chrome would be fairly insignificant. but then again, i ride a busa and don't need to concern myself with power to weight ratio :jam2:

:storm: <---me riding home tonite in this nice weather. bike is now clean

LMFAO!

But yes, Ron, you are correct...same reason why Rossi, Hayden, Biaggi, etc. all weigh like 130 soaking wet...jockey syndrome...

For every 7 lbs. you shed from either the bike or yourself is like adding 1 extra hp.

reduction of sprung mass should be more benefitial.

or you could just be like me. 135 lbs and not gaining a lb.

Typical responses from some...I guess that's what happens when one tries to add some casual bike banter to a bike forum.

215#, 115ish hp, 70lbs of torque, I'm doing ok on the SV. :nod2:
Of course, I have five minute laptimes, so weight is irrelevant at this point. :banghead:
