5. of all aftermarket mods on your track bike, what is your favorite?96 has full exhaust, which sucks (carbs need to be adjusted), SS brake lines are nice, but seem to be more important on the 01 that doesnt have them yet.

its really not that much I need to budget for.. There was a lot of money spent on the initial investment of gear, but the recurring costs are somewhat limited and managble. The need the budget really depends on how much "play" money you have at the end of every month after paying the bills, and that's different for everybody...

Pocono is nice, but as you start doing other tracks, you will realize how bumpy pocono is, and not nearly as enjoyable.

SS lines arent a must, but highly recommended... The brakes on my 96 in all honesty felt real good with the stock lines, even under hard braking, although they do feel better with the SS lines on. The brakes on the 01 on the other hand pretty much suck, but they also still have stock pads along with the stock lines... The 96 had EBC HH pads since track day #1. Lots of variables to consider, really...

do my best to keep the cost down by buying a speedpass (multiple days at once for a small discount) and try to reg early to get the cheaper rate, get people to sign up in order to get referral credits, get my girl to work at pit out for credits, and sometimes guest coach.

about $350ish every four days (not as much as my girl spends racing her car)

12. $$$ on lodging?
try not to spend more than about $60 a night

try to pitch in with others and bring food. buying track food can get realy expensive

I would like a new helmet and leathers, get more spares (last crash used up a bunch) service the suspension (already have racetech internals up front and a penske rear), new body and paint, but who knows I maybe I'll find some hidden treasure and just buy a new bike, but more realistically I will probably do nothing except for routine maintenence.

Figure a set a weekend.....8 weekends per year....$340 per set = $2720 a year X 2 +$5400.

If you really want to get sick think of this per year:

$240 for entry fees a weekend x 8 = $1920 (this is going safe for a year) + the $2700ish for tires + gas (3 tanks to go to Summit and back....4 for NHIS) = $180 ($240 for NHIS) = $1440 for the year, race gas ($50 per weekend) is $400.....So playing it safe we're talkin $6500 not including food, drink, hotels, misc bike parts.....the cost of the bike and all of the go fast parts (shock, revalve on da forks, race plastic, paint, brackets, clip ons, rear sets, frame sliders, multiple helmets, multiple suits, gloves, boots, ect............at the end of the day this could cost you an arm, leg, first...secong born and ya might have to pimp out your gf to pay for next weekends tires. LOL

Now do this for 10 years and then ask yourself......WHERE DA FUCK DID ALL MY MONEY GO?????? :cries: :crazy:

FWIW - my last WERA weekend at Summit ran me clost to $1400 for the weekend. :cries:

the dry erase board is full in the trailer with shit i need to do. need to finish putting in my new clutch, remove head and change head (possibly have shaved) and replace gasket, re degree cams, brake fluid/pads, clean fuel filter (job and a half fuckin honda pos) obviously oil/filter after the head. bevel brake pads, retorque all engine mount bolts, possibly get mapped.....who knows. theres def more. oh and repaint...
